Compartment Matting
About 30 years ago, the average compartment on a fire truck had OAK STRIPS bolted to the floor. These were designed to let the VALUABLE and WET (after all that is what firepersons do…Wet!! Right??) equipment dry out and not slide around.
Well, about this time an adventurous and groundbreaking company named Dri-Dek had begun to become popular with Modular Matting. Some one in the fire industry had the brilliant idea that these simple little leggo like blocks would make a better solution then the OAK strips.
Thus was born COMPARTMENT MATTINGS. Although the Dri-Dek product was good it was really designed more for light-duty application like locker rooms and shower rooms.
